Custom Van Builds
“Pinewood” 2015 Ram Promaster 2500 cargo van
This beautiful cargo van was built for a client who wanted to live/work on the road. Built using cedar shiplap, fiberglass insulation, foam insulation, vinyl flooring, and various other materials, this van has everything you need to stay on the grid or off. While building this van I found the size and spacing very friendly and just about the right size for one person. This Promaster has a “U” shape bed with an adjustable-rotating table that folds down to make almost a queen-size bed. Under the bed, you have additional storage with a 15-gallon grey and freshwater tank. The kitchen rests on a 7’ butcher block countertop with running water, a 2 burner stove, and a biomimetic fridge. Other, features this kitchen has are plenty of storage and drawer space with upper cabinets. Across from the kitchen is a small closet able to hold 12 hangers and an additional storage area with a pull-out composting toilet. The power needs for this vehicle are primarily handled by (2) 300ah lithium batteries and a 400-watt solar panel system. Additionally, there is a small 2.5kw diesel heater that will keep you toasty even on the coldest night.

A beautiful and stunning van built with brass accents sounded by warm light and plenty of cabinetry. This van comes was designed to have a working kitchen with a propane stove from Greystone, running hot and cold water, and a seating area with a table large enough to hold a puzzle or share with two since the driver seat swivels around to face the bench seat. It was also designed to hold a mattress almost the size of a queen. The hot water system is a Suburban Tankless water heater with an adjustable thermostat, it heats water for the sink and outdoor shower. The van holds 15 gallons of water and can be filled using your standard hose adapter. The van is heated using the Propex 2500 propane heater and can heat the van in minutes using an adjustable thermostat. Additionally, there are 400w solar panels from Renogoy on the roof mounted on an Unaka Gear Co roof rack that helps charge a 300ah AGM battery bank. There are (2) MaxAir fans allowing for air to be pushed or pulled into the vehicle. As you can see this rig has loads of storage space, 13 drawers/cabinets to be exact, and in one of these drawers is a large Dometic 75 liter dual zone fridge on 250lb sliders. There is so much detail in this van and I hope the pictures can speak for the rest.
“Eaglehwood” 2021 Mercedes 4X4 Sprinter
This rig was brought to us with the interior walls and flooring done by Adventure Wagon Kit. I was tasked with the cabinetry and 12v AC installation by Cruise and Comfort USA. The interior was bamboo wall panels and so the natural response was bamboo cabinetry. The garage was made with heavy traffic flooring material and a custom electrical panel made by Tap Plastics SF. Once everything was installed and hooked up the final product left us feeling warm/ cool vibes no matte where the road took you.

A van built as a mobile bicycle repair unit! This rig came to us with an empty shell previously used as a passenger transport rig for a bike team and wanted to be converted as a mobile bike repair unit during races and weekend out-and-back. The van layout allows for a lot of open space and ease of going in and out of the van when needed. The material mainly used in this was birch and we are loving how the grain and look of it all came out.
“Whitewood” 2009 E250 Ford Econoline high roof
This fun rig was once a wheelchair-accessible vehicle that previously had a campervan story already built into it. When we received it we tore it all out and started over with a clean slate. The van came with a raised roof and allowed for more head space and an open feeling. The idea around the custom layout was to allow space for 2 people and two dogs so they could go on weekend camping trips or up to the mountains to go skiing in the winter. The layout consists of a long bench with storage and a smaller bench where both sides can sit while using a pull-out table. The rig comes with a pull-out bed, shower with running hot water, a sink, and a propane stove. The van is also heated with a Propex heater that puts out some serious heat when needed. Additionally, there are two 100w solar panels charging a 200ah battery to keep up with the refrigerator, various, lights, and other accessories.

“Hemlock Wood” 2018 Ram Promaster city
This smaller rig was built with road trips in mind but with the convenience of a 1 or 2-day overnighter on short trips. This Promaster was built using bamboo, birch, and hemlock materials. Hemlock has a 51” x 18” working countertop including a stainless steel sink with running water that can also be used as an outdoor shower. For additional functionality, a slide-out drawer at the end of the bed has the ability to act as an additional working counter for cooking or other table-related needs. There are two additional drawers located under the bed to provide additional storage and a larger opening to hold larger bulky items such as a large bag. “Ironwood” 2007 Ford e250 Econoline Van
Built to meet the growing demand of my rentals, I created a simple yet sturdy layout to take anyone anywhere and still be comfortable. I wanted to make sure the van felt open and spacious given the size of the vehicle. Legend was built using mostly all redwood material, heating duct insulation, and vinyl flooring. It has a small kitchen with running water and a pull-out 45 L Yeti cooler that can be accessed from the front seats. I left the option for a portable stove rather than building one in to create options at campgrounds or other areas to cook outside. The bedroom is a bed to couch conversion and when you are ready for bed the couch pulls out into a queen-size bed.
“Redwood” 2007 Ford e250 Econoline Van
A nonstop, joy-giving van that has taken so many people on wonderful journeys to neighboring states and parks. Redwood is an incredible and reliable van that has just about everything you need to make your adventure happen. This van, which has a similar layout and functionality to Legend, boats to its durability and conveniences that make van-life easier. Redwood, like its name, was made with redwood tung and groove paneling, bubble insulation, vinyl flooring, and red oak materials. The kitchen sits with a 2 burner propane stove, running water, and drawers and cabinets for all your kitchen equipment. All the rear doors have some form of cubbies, table surfaces, or drawers to keep those quick grab items ready.
“Teakwood” 1990 Ford E350 School Bus
This bus was used to take kiddos to and from School in Michigan state. One day one of those kids grew up and decided they wanted to have a camper van and decided to head back to their hometown and buy a bus that they took to school every day. The school bus has been painted green and installed with reused 100-year-old-growth redwood originally used on a water tower in Northern California. The rig comes with solar panels to charge 100ah lithium batteries that run the refrigerator, water pump, heater, and fan. There is a functioning stove and oven as well as a propane heater. There is a storage cabinet for the composting toilet and led strip lighting to illuminate the rig at night.
“Wildwood” 2007 Ford E350 Econoline Van
An adventure van for me! This was my first build and I am pleased to see thrive and go the distance having been around the country and back. Wildwood was built using knotty pine shiplap, fiberglass insulation, and vinyl flooring. This rig had a small working kitchen with running water, a 2 burner propane stove, and a 45 L Yeti cooler instead of a fridge. Other items included a small dry pantry and a spice rack. The bed is roughly the size of a queen bed with most of the storage located under it and the bed also folds back to allow for a small table to extend upwards for additional seating and work surface. The garage/ storage area has the capacity to fit a couple pairs of skis or snowboards for those winter adventures.
